How it reaches your on-prem estate
One small VM inside your network hosts the collectors. Credentials for these systems are stored only on the appliance, inside your infrastructure; the platform receives observed metadata (what exists, how it is configured, how it connects) over TLS. Toward your systems the appliance is read-only: it queries their APIs and has no write path.
